After rather too long studying medieval philosophy, I began working in the antiquarian book trade with the venerable London firm of Pickering & Chatto in 2001. Edmund Brumfitt Rare Books was founded in December 2013, and is a Member of the Antiquarian Booksellers’Association and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers. My interests, centred around Continental Europe between 1600 and 1900, range from philosophy, social, economic, and cultural history, and law, through to science and medicine; when two or more of these collide, so much the better.

I aim to produce a number of e-lists, both general and on specific topics, throughout the year, as well as short monthly bulletins; I also exhibit at a number of book fairs. To receive email notifications of lists and events, as well as to receive bulletins, please click here. As a member of the Antiquarian Booksellers’ Association, I am bound by their code of conduct, the details of which can be found on their website.
